Accreditation: A High School Improvement Process Certificate
Admission
This program is open to anyone who can benefit from university-level study. Individuals not pursuing a certificate may enroll in any course with the instructor's approval and if all prerequisites have been met.
Certificate Requirements
To earn the certificate, participants must successfully complete 14 quarter units (with a letter grade of "B" or better).
Transfer Credit
Up to 4 quarter units of credit from other institutions are permitted if the courses relate directly to the content of certificate coursework. Applicable courses taken through University Extension prior to application may be counted toward the certificate. Coursework must be taken within the last five years. Requests for transfer credit must be in writing and official transcripts must accompany the request. The requests for transfer credit must be approved by the Director of Education Extension.
Certificate Program Completion
After all course requirements have been satisfied, a candidate may request that his or her certificate be issued. Upon verification of program completion, a certificate will be issued.
To Enroll in the Program
An application must be submitted along with a non-refundable application fee of $50 before the completion of the third course. Classes are offered every quarter and it is anticipated that an individual could complete the program in one and a half years. The non-refundable fee covers academic advisement, tracking of progress/completion, and updates on program changes and additions. Forms are available in Extension's quarterly catalog, at Student Services, in program department offices and on the Web: www.extension.ucr.edu/certificates.
