The University of California, Riverside, International
Education Programs offers a wide variety of shortterm
and long-term English language programs.
Students can choose from three weeks to over one
year of English language study with opportunities to
transfer to academic and professional programs.
The English language programs are designed for all
levels of English speakers, from beginner to
advanced, who want to improve their English and
expand their educational opportunities or
professional experience.
Intensive English Program (IEP)
provides students from beginner to advanced levels
the opportunity to improve their fluency and focus
on specific English language skills (Program Costs and Dates).
English for International Business (EIB)
is designed for advanced-level students. The
program focuses on improving specific English
skills in a business environment and includes site
visits to local businesses (Program Costs and Dates).
Improving Oral Fluency (IOF)
helps advanced-level students communicate more
effectively by focusing on specific oral skills (Program Costs and Dates).
Conversation and American Culture (CAC)
gives students with limited time an opportunity to
gain confidence in speaking and listening and to
experience California and American culture
(Program Costs and Dates).
Summer English Programs (SEP)
offer students on summer vacation in June, July and
August the opportunity to practice and improve
their English skills and to experience California
(Program Costs and Dates).
