Do you want to...
• Improve your English listening and speaking skills to be able to communicate effectively?
• Feel confident speaking English with native speakers?
• Feel comfortable making oral presentations?
• Improve your pronunciation?
• Perfect your English to help you get a good job in which you can use your English?
Most students learn English at school with a focus on reading and writing skills. For many students, there are not enough opportunities to engage in English conversation in their own country, and they don’t have the confidence to practice spoken English. Whether you have to use English in your work and want to improve your oral English, you are an English teacher in another country and want to enhance your teaching or practice your oral skills to have general conversations or conduct business in English, Improving Oral Fluency (IOF) gives you the oral skills and practice you need to communicate successfully.
Designed for advanced-level students, the IOF program is offered in 4-, 6- and 10-week sessions, four times a year, and focuses on improving specific oral skills including:
• Pronunciation
• Grammar for Oral Fluency
• Oral Skills Development
Students who do not provide an approved English assessment test score are tested upon arrival and may be advised to attend the Intensive English Program (pages 8 and 9) instead.

Electives
If you are an IOF student enrolled in a 10-week session, you have the opportunity to increase your oral English skills by joining an elective course as part of your weekly program. You may choose from a range of specialized courses in English that focus on a particular interest area. Choices may include:
