Forensic Investigations & Public Safety

UCR Extension offers a variety of programs of interest to public safety agencies and incident investigators in the public and private sectors. There is the Certificate in Crime and Intelligence Analysis that provides courses in advanced methods for analyzing crime incidence patterns to enhance resource use and crime prevention. We also offer the Certificate in Crime Scene Investigation and a multitude of technical and short courses as well as an intensive one to two week program in related topics including, but not limited to, forensic sciences, traffic accident reconstruction, and emergency management. The CSI Certificate is also offered in an intensive format during the summer. You can earn the entire certificate in just 4 weeks. Special events during this CSI Academy include the series "Evening with the Experts" and several field trips.
